Designed for 7 Cohorts with 56 Participants… Safety, Tolerability, and Pharmacokinetics (PK) Evaluated

Bichedam Co., Ltd. announced on the 9th that it conducted the Site Initiation Visit (SIV) for the Phase 1 clinical trial of its self-developed herbal-based ROCK inhibitor, ‘BCD101,’ at the Clinical Trial Center of Chungbuk National University Hospital on the 5th.

The clinical trial is led by Professor Min-kyu Park from the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at Chungbuk National University Hospital as the principal investigator (PI), with LSK Global PS serving as the contract research organization (CRO).

BCD101 aims to develop a treatment for nocturnal leg cramps (NLC) and geriatric hypertension by improving vascular stiffness. In this Phase 1 trial, the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of the drug will be evaluated in healthy adult volunteers.

The study is designed for a total of 7 cohorts with 56 participants, with the first patient enrollment and dosing scheduled for September 23.

A Bichedam representative stated, “The initiation of this Phase 1 trial marks a significant milestone in BCD101’s journey toward becoming a global new drug. By confirming safety and tolerability, we plan to expand indications and proceed to global clinical trials.”
