The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (CEO: Kim Won-kyung, hereafter Gyeonggi Innovation Center) announced on the 29th that, in collaboration with Kyung Hee University Technology Holdings, Dongguk University, and the Korea Invention Promotion Association, it hosted the “32nd Startup 815 IR Alliance” at the Pangyo Startup Zone on August 28.
Startup 815 IR is a regular investment attraction program held every Thursday at the Pangyo Startup Zone in Sujeong-gu, Seongnam. Organized by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center, it connects startups seeking investment with potential investors.
The 32nd IR event focused on the bio, health functional food, and platform sectors. Kyung Hee University Technology Holdings and the Korea Invention Promotion Association jointly participated, and startups recommended by Dongguk University were also included.
The presenting companies included ▲ Circular Bio, which developed an organic waste recycling system through insect farming ▲ Topo Lab, a platform for mass production of plant-based materials to respond to climate disasters ▲ Bichedam, which developed blood circulation improvement products using red ginseng blending technology,
▲ Dr. B Lab, researching traditional medicine-based natural lung cancer therapeutics, and ▲ Hintz, providing a medical institution workflow continuity platform, totaling five companies. On the investor side, seven institutions participated, including Stick Ventures, Intellectual Discovery, Kolon Investment, Coolidge Corner Investment,
Platinum Technology Investment, GS Retail, and LX Ventures, conducting in-depth evaluations of the companies’ technological capabilities and business potential. Notably, from this IR onwards, the event expanded its co-hosting scope in connection with the Deep Tech Tutoring Project of the Gyeonggi Provincial Small and Medium Venture Business Administration,
strengthening the network for discovering various startups and contributing to the activation of the investment ecosystem. A Gyeonggi Innovation Center official stated, “This Startup 815 IR was meaningful in discovering promising companies in bio, health functional foods, and platform sectors while expanding collaboration,”
and added, “We will continue to work with related institutions to expand investment opportunities for technology startups and foster a sustainable startup ecosystem.”
