【Health Digest | Reporter Min-Young Choi】 As part of the ‘2025 Agro-Food Technology Startup Accelerator Development Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and organized by the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, the professional accelerator Y&Archer successfully held the 1st ‘Green Unicorn (G-Corn) Accelerating VCRT (VC Round Table)’ on July 31 at the Korea Science and Technology Center.

This program was designed for promising agro-food startups to enhance their investment attraction and global expansion potential, with a focus on supporting practical commercialization and facilitating investment connections.

A total of four incubated companies—KOSAT, DeepBello, Blessed Project, and BICHEDAM—participated in the investment consultation event, alongside four venture capital firms with extensive agro-food and biotech investment experience, including Simsang Ventures, Capital NBH, Hyundai Technology Investment, and Gaia Venture Partners. Across 16 sessions, one-on-one intensive investment consultations were conducted, resulting in six follow-up meeting requests.

Prior to the consultation sessions, a common training (G-Edu) was conducted in which Seungjin Lee, CEO of Joinet, delivered a lecture on “Global Export Management and Marketing Strategies for Agro-Food Companies,” sharing practical, hands-on insights to help participating startups prepare for overseas expansion.

This VCRT went beyond a simple investor briefing, operating through customized investor matching based on preliminary assessments and demand surveys. A post-event satisfaction survey recorded an average score of 4.8 out of 5, with all participating companies indicating they would join again if a similar program were offered, highlighting the program’s practical effectiveness.

Jeong Hye-min, a team member at Y&Archer, stated, “Through this investment consultation, agri-food startups were able to engage directly with investors on-site and achieve meaningful outcomes that led to actual follow-up discussions. This year, through the G-Corn program, we will continue to operate practical support initiatives—such as global distribution linkage, follow-up investment attraction, and export consulting—to actively support the scale-up of agri-food startups.”

Y&Archer plans to leverage this VCRT as a starting point to drive the sustainable growth of the agri-food startup ecosystem through various follow-up programs, including additional roundtables, agri-food PoCs, and overseas demo days.
