The Gyeongbuk Intellectual Property (IP) Center at the Pohang Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on the 27th that the 2025 IP Narae Program support project has been successfully completed.

This program is jointly supported by the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and Gyeongbuk Province, and implemented by the Gyeongbuk IP Center at the Pohang Chamber of Commerce. It aims to strategically analyze and secure rights for the technologies held by beneficiary companies through IP-based convergence consulting, thereby enhancing their potential for sustainable growth and market competitiveness.

Eligible companies are startups within seven years of establishment that possess proprietary technology. Selected companies receive tailored consulting and technology analysis based on IP within a 100-day period, covering both technical and business aspects.

This year, a total of 27 startups from eight regions in the province—including Pohang, Gyeongju, Yeongcheon, Gyeongsan, Yeongdeok, Cheongdo, Uljin, and Ulleung—were supported (17 in the first half, 10 in the second half). The program helped these companies strengthen IP capabilities, enhance market competitiveness, and establish a stable foundation for market entry by supporting new technology discovery and patent applications through specialized IP consulting.

Notably, among the supported companies, BICHEDAM Inc. (CEO Hobin Moon, Gyeongsan) was highlighted as an exemplary case. The company received support for securing patents for future strategic technologies and subsequent funding linkage, particularly for developing core materials for therapies addressing neurodegenerative diseases. Guidance on various government support programs was also provided.

BICHEDAM was selected as a beneficiary of the ‘2025 Gyeongbuk Global Startup Package Growth Support Project’ and received approximately KRW 1 billion in investment from the Korea Technology Finance Corporation.
