Preparation for BCD101 Phase 2 Clinical Trial Accelerates
Exploring Expanded Indications Including Microvascular Angina (MVA)

BICHEDAM, Professor Kiuk Jang at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital Appointed as PI for ‘Nocturnal Leg Cramp Phase 2 Clinical Trial’

BICHEDAM Co., Ltd. recently announced that it has signed a joint clinical development research agreement with Haam Bio Co., Ltd. for the nocturnal leg cramp (NLC) treatment candidate, ‘BCD101’.

Through this agreement, Professor Kiuk Jang of the Department of Cardiology at Catholic University Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital will join as the Principal Investigator (PI) for the upcoming clinical trial.

Professor Jang is a cardiovascular disease specialist affiliated with the Department of Cardiology and the Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Hospital at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital. He is recognized for his expertise both academically and clinically through active participation in the Korean Society of Cardiology, the Korean Society of Interventional Cardiology, and multiple multicenter clinical trials.

With Professor Jang’s participation, BICHEDAM and Haam Bio plan to actively prepare for the Phase 2 clinical trial next year and expect to strengthen the foundation for patient recruitment and study execution by leveraging the St. Mary’s Hospital network.

The two companies will establish a research committee under this agreement to formulate clinical strategies and develop a roadmap that extends through the product approval stage.

In addition, while focusing on BCD101, the companies plan to actively explore expanded indications beyond the ongoing NLC trial, including microvascular angina (MVA) and other unmet cardiovascular conditions, aiming to broaden the clinical applications of the natural product-based ROCK inhibitor and strengthen the foundation for global market entry.

Hobin Moon, CEO of BICHEDAM, stated, “With Phase 1 progressing smoothly, having Professor Kiuk Jang join as PI during preparations for Phase 2 is highly significant. Leveraging his expertise and network, we aim to secure global competitiveness in the unmet NLC market.”

A representative from Haam Bio commented, “Through the joint research agreement with BICHEDAM, we will systematically advance preparations for Phase 2 and continue efforts to expand indications to cardiovascular diseases in the future.”
