Natural Product-Based Pharmaceutical Developer BICHEDAM Secures ₩1 Billion Investment from Kibo, Completing Pre-A Round
BICHEDAM Co., Ltd., a developer of natural product-based pharmaceuticals, announced on the 2nd that it has secured a ₩1 billion investment from the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Kibo), successfully completing its Pre-A round of funding.

Through this investment, BICHEDAM has secured a total cumulative funding of ₩2 billion, including its 2024 seed investment. The company focuses on developing ROCK (Rho-associated protein kinase) inhibitors derived from herbal ingredients as its core technology, with degenerative disease therapeutics as its primary pipeline. Currently, the drug candidate is preparing to enter Phase 1 clinical trials in South Korea in collaboration with Chungbuk National University Hospital.

In addition, BICHEDAM is preparing to launch a premium health functional food. The company plans to release a herbal ingredient-based product by August, aimed at alleviating leg muscle cramps during sleep and promoting blood circulation.

Moon Ho-bin, CEO of BICHEDAM, stated, “This investment reflects recognition of our herbal-based technological capabilities and market potential,” adding, “We will steadily build a foundation for technology transfer and a future IPO, not only through the development of new drugs targeting degenerative diseases but also by entering the global market with functional products.”
