250508 BICHEDAM Opens Affiliated Research Lab at Yeungnam University Institute of Manufacturing Technology

[NHS] BICHEDAM Co., Ltd., a natural product-based pharmaceutical company (CEO Moon Ho-bin), held an opening ceremony for its company-affiliated research institute at Yeungnam University Institute of Manufacturing Technology on the 7th, attended by over 70 guests.

The event was attended by Kim Sam-su, Vice President of Yeungnam University; Lee Hwa-dong, Acting President of the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine; Park Min-kyu, Director of the Chungbuk National University Clinical Trial Center; and Choi Hyuk-yong, Partner at the law firm Bae, Kim & Lee.

On the day, Vice President Kim Sam-su stated, “We expect this to become a good model for mutual growth between the university and the company, and Yeungnam University will actively support the creation of research outcomes through industry-academia collaboration.” Meanwhile, Center Director Park Min-kyu commented, “BICHEDAM’s research capabilities observed in the clinical trial field were very impressive, and we look forward to more collaborative research in the future.”

In addition, Acting President Lee Hwa-dong emphasized, “As the Korean medicine industry gains global attention, we hope that the growth of companies like BICHEDAM will serve as a foundation for leading the industry.” Lawyer Choi Hyuk-yong added, “We hope BICHEDAM takes the lead in developing treatments for degenerative diseases needed in an ultra-aged society, providing great benefit to our society.”

BICHEDAM Co., Ltd. is currently developing pharmaceuticals and health supplements for degenerative diseases based on herbal ROCK inhibitors and is preparing for a domestic Phase 1 clinical trial at Chungbuk National University Hospital.

Meanwhile, CEO Moon Ho-bin was awarded a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare in recognition of his contributions to the promotion of the Korean medicine industry and the improvement of public health, and he has also been selected for the TIPS program by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, actively advancing his R&D capabilities.
